I serve as a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois. I completed her M.A. in Counseling Psychology at Trinity International University and also hold a B.A. in Bible & Theology from European Bible Institute, France. I am a member of the EMDR Global Network. I have been trained to provide EMDR Basic Therapy and currently applying for verification through EMDR Global Network.
Having been born and raised overseas in a Spanish-speaking country, and having lived in other European countries as well, I am sensitive to and able to appreciate the beauty and richness of having a multicultural background, and also the challenges of not fully belonging to a single culture.
I have experience working professionally with a varied population in a community agency setting. I also counseled students at a Christian College. I have co-led bilingual moms groups addressing topics such as parenting, personal growth, depression, and anxiety. My husband and I have offered pre-marital counseling in the context of our church and currently serve as a part of the elder couple team at our local church.
I enjoy working with young and older adults, individuals and couples. I am passionate about working with individuals who have experienced developmental trauma and also desires to provide a space where they can be heard and seen, and where God can heal and restore. I believe that the transformation process also involves understanding the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit and pursuing growth in all these areas. In the past couple of years, I witnessed the power of God’s healing through EMDR therapy.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and four children. I love daily walks by the lake and being in nature as much as possible. I also loves reading, especially biographies and historical fiction.
